Our Purpose

Through the years, we realised that the international and private school education systems are not delivering the value that they promise; which is to provide a well-integrated learning experience for the students. After much research, we found out that students don’t only need a tutor, but they strive for a teacher who is also a mentor, motivator and a leader. Unfortunately, a dedicated teacher with all these qualities has become rare these days resulting in poor, under-performing students in school.

Any loving parents would agree that they want to provide the best education for their child in this day and age. However, we have also learned that many parents out there are struggling to get their kids the education that they deserve. Very often when students deliver poor results, generally, those students will very quickly be labelled as incompetent, dumb or downright lazy, which will, in turn, lower their self-esteem and confidence. Parents, on the other hand, will have most probably accepted defeat that their child is hopeless in achieving excellence in their studies.

Pasxcel was then built with both parents and children in mind. We realised that every child has the ability to excel in their studies but is just missing the right catalyst to bring out that untapped potential in them. The question is, why are we blaming the child for their failure when the teaching was not taught right in the beginning?

This is where Pasxcel is able to assist you; transforming the fact that your children are being told that they are useless and unworthy to become knowledgeable and successful in life. We truly believe in our students and it is our duty to make sure that when they come and learn with us, we are showering them with the right knowledge and skills to be independent and self-sufficient.

Founder & Principal, Mr. Yuven

Yuventhiran Nadarajan is a father, husband, speaker and entrepreneur. But he is best known among students and parents alike as an educator. Teacher Yuven believes that the current schooling system is outdated beyond measure and is the last piece of surviving antiquity in our fast-paced ever-changing world.

He believes the plethora of international and private schools are toying with parents’ faith, not to mention hard-earned money and young children’s fate by “providing education” that is destined to set them up for failure. His principles crystallized after continuously meeting parents like Dr Norzalita Aziz and her daughter, Ermina. Despite paying over RM 40,000 in tuition fees alone, the reputable international school Ermina was enrolled in did little to recognize the poor girl’s learning disability. They did not prepare a customized learning plan or even bother advising her parents that she could register as a special needs learner for exams which would have gotten her extra time in her exams.

Together with teachers at Pasxcel, he is creating transformative stories each day. From infusing confidence in students (who all teachers had given up on), to providing a safe sanctuary for ex-bully victims to bloom into class leaders, Teacher Yuven is focused on building what matters the most in your child, their confidence, their sense of self and most of all, their can-do, winner mindset.

He believes a straight string of A’s is redundant (quite a contradiction since all Pasxcel students score amazing results in their IGCSE) if the child does not learn to be an independent knowledge seeker. As such, he puts an intense focus on each child at Pasxcel to develop life long skills ranging from coding to time management, from public speaking to financial literacy.

His passion to serve the extended community at Pasxcel has seen him embark on a journey to write books such as this one, elucidate opinion pieces and launch his own series on Youtube to  educate parents. He also hosts numerous live sessions to disentangle parents’ confusion on private education and to advocate pertinent issues such as mental health management among teenagers.

His live sessions are frequented by parents of Pasxcel Academy sharing their children’s joyful education experience. Parents from all over the world – Japan, Korea, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, India, Germany, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong and Malaysia, and from all walks of life – chartered accountants, engineers, orthodontists, businessmen, share how Pasxcel has become a trusted partner in raising their child by providing unparalleled pastoral care, detailed feedback and action plan to make the child the best version of themselves.

He believes that it is his duty to provide each child with an avenue to both discover as well as build themselves. He does this by handpicking the best teachers and screening for the most deserving students to join the Pasxcel community. Currently, he is continuing his good work at Pasxcel, building an intimate, strong community of alumni, students, educators and parents that is thriving under his leadership.

Teacher Devina

Teacher Devina is a medical graduate from Moscow who has an underlying passion for teaching. She did her housemanship in Hospital Kuala Lumpur and thereafter joined Pasxcel Academy. She teaches Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics focusing on IGCSE syllabus. Teaching gives her satisfaction hence the complete change in career and she wishes that her students learn to gain knowledge instead of studying for the sake of exams. Her method of teaching is a mix of hybrid plus facilitator style whereby there is a blend between her personality with the needs of her students promoting self learning along with critical thinking skills.
Rasyad

Teacher Rasyad

Teacher Rasyad studies Theoretical Physics and for a while he was working as a theoretical physicist. His area of research was Theoretical nuclear astrophysics and particle physics. His passion for Mathematics and Physics led him to then become a teacher with Pasxcel where he hopes to instil in his students the joy of finding things out. To this end, his classes are usually very broad ranging and engaging. Rather than just explaining the concepts, he ties it in with the students daily life experiences. This allows the student to appreciate the topic better and gain a better understanding of it.

Ms Nazreen started her journey with Pasxcel as a parent. As Sohail’s mother, the close connection we developed with Ms Naz helped us understand how her perspective towards education matched Pasxcel’s.

A distinguished educator with over 20 years of experience in the private education scene in Malaysia, Ms Naz shares all of Pasxcel’s values and beliefs. She admits that it was an uphill battle in establishing her style of education elsewhere as it was deemed “non-traditional” and “too student-centric” which led to her deciding to take a sabbatical from her profession. Bringing her out of her “early retirement” was not an easy feat. We consistently cajoled her to consider Pasxcel when she was ready to join the workforce. This is saying something since we routinely reject over 400 applicants each month!

Almost 6 months after Sohail’s graduation from Pasxcel, Ms Naz finally decided to join Pasxcel. She shares, “As a parent, I have experienced first hand what Pasxel is capable of, the transformation my son experienced as well as the detailed feedback on his progress. I knew when I decided to re-enter the workforce, Pasxcel will be the best fit for me.”

She brings not only her vast experience, her illustrious credentials (7 years as vice principal in an international school) but also unmatched love for the well being of the students here at Pasxcel. 

Under her expert hands, students learn English As First and Second Language as well as Bahasa Malaysia. She also conducts the Wellness Wednesday programs aiming to up (the already high standard of) Pasxcel’s pastoral care with an interesting twist. When you do not find her in class, you can find her in the recording booth with her students, producing Pasxcel’s weekly podcast.

Ms Naz is a proud wife, mother, educator and distinguished member of the Pasxcel community.

Teacher Nouran

Teacher Nouran has 5 years’ experience in English teaching. She worked with different age groups; starting from teaching Young Learners up to training experienced teachers. She attained her Cambridge CELTA certificate in 2017 and is currently studying towards her Applied Linguistics Postgraduate Diploma. Nouran teaches both English as a Second Language and English as a First Language at Pasxcel. She believes that Pasxcel offers a wider perspective on education and hopes to see her students develop a unique personality, opinion and path in life. Nouran’s methodology depends on communication and interaction, which results in language acquisition rather than language learning.
